In the newsletter, we reported that Oxfordshire County Council Highways had said the problem of the partially blocked footpath between Drayton Road and Burton Close was not their responsibility. We complained to them about this strange statement as they have a duty to deal with obstructed footpaths. We eventually got a reply, saying what they meant was the ivy was not their responsibility! They say that they have written twice to the developer of The Poplars about the ivy from the fence around this property but have not had a response (neither did we when we wrote to the developer.) What we want to see now is action by OCC, not a series of letters.We will continue to keep a close eye on this problem.
